Superbills are receipts that contain information your insurance company needs to reimburse you IF you have out of network benefits and IF your provider is willing to provide basic information about themselves and information/notes about your visit. With this method, you pay your provider’s self-pay fee (except Tricare which has a higher, limited allowable for CERTIFIED out of network provider), your receive the superbill and you submit to your insurance carrier yourself and accept whatever payment, if any, they offer.
If you have out of network benefits we can provide a superbill for you to submit yourself to your insurance carrier for potential reimbursement. Whether you choose us or not, we work to empower better consumers of mental health. To ensure you understand what a superbill is and what your out of network benefits are, consult with your insurance company. Not every plan will agree to pay for sessions with a provider who is not credentialed with that insurance company. Additionally, some therapists will offer a superbill and then refuse to work with the insurance company if asked. This will prevent any payment from the insurance company to you.
We recognize the importance of access to care; therefore, we have several price points, depending on the therapist, for self-pay and couples’ counseling; we keep our rates lower than the average for our area and for our training, experience and expertise.
